Side Seal Properties Tests

Burst / Internal Pressurization

What it measures: Pressure at which the pouch will rupture or the seal will fail when internally pressurized (and/or creep behavior at elevated pressure).

Why: Simulates stresses from CO₂, fermentation, gas generation, altitude, or mechanical inflation; useful for transit/sterilization risk.

How (overview): Inflate pouch with air in a burst tester until failure; report burst pressure and failure location (seal vs film). Use restraining plates for constrained burst (F2054) when appropriate
