Zipper seal airtight tests

A zipper seal airtight test evaluates the ability of a reclosable zipper to prevent air leakage after closure.
It ensures the zipper maintains freshness, moisture barrier, and odor containment during storage and transport.

Why Airtight Testing Is Important

  • Prevents air ingress & moisture absorption
  • Maintains vacuum or modified atmosphere
  • Ensures food freshness & shelf life
  • Confirms zipper profile quality & sealing consistency
  • Reduces customer complaints & returns

Test Conditions (Standard)

  • Temperature: 23°C ±2°C
  • RH: 50% ±5%
  • Zipper closed using specified method (finger press / slider)
  • Minimum 3–5 cycles before testing (for reclosable bags)
